Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the ROCK THE BELLS media release party. I was the event photographer contracted by Guerilla UNion to cover the event and boy did I!!! This was an epic event because so many names are on the list for this years tour. Not to mention the fact that this year RTB has 8 stops in the US, 4 stops in Europe and 2 stops in Japan, making this a world wide event. Some of the groups that are on the bill for this year include: PHARCYDE, A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, DE LA SOUL, MURS, NAS, RAEKWON, GHOSTFACE AND THE REST OF WU FAMILY, SUPERNATURAL, JAY ELECTRONICA, WALE, BLACKOUT (METHOD MAN AND REDMAN), BLACKSATR (MOS DEF AND TALIB KWELI) and MANY MANY MORE!!!
With a line up of this caliber, this years RTB event is set to go out and show people why most of us fell in love with hip-hop music, and that had nothing to do with being gangster or thug. This year also marks the reunion of DE LA SOUL, TRIBE AND PHARCYDE. That is what hip-hop is about. Amazing musically with stories and lyrics that capture and inspire us, not just tell us how much money they made last year.
